Responsibilities:
Patient Care Assistance:
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures during the night shift.
Vital Signs Monitoring:
Measure and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration, accurately and promptly.
Medication Administration:
Administer medications or injections as directed by healthcare providers and within the scope of practice.
Patient Triage:
Assess and prioritize patient needs based on urgency and severity, ensuring appropriate and timely care.
Medical Records:
Update and maintain electronic medical records, documenting patient encounters, procedures, and treatments.
Specimen Collection:
Collect and prepare patient specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
Administrative Support:
Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient registrations during night hours.
Equipment Preparation:
Ensure medical equipment and supplies are stocked, organized, and ready for use during night shifts.
Patient Education:
Provide patients with basic information, instructions, and educational materials related to their condition, treatment, or upcoming procedures.
Infection Control:
Follow established infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, proper use of personal protective equipment, and cleaning and disinfection of equipment and exam rooms.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant training program or relevant certification is required.
Active certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent in the respective jurisdiction.
Knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy, and clinical procedures.
Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and basic computer skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and support staff.
Compassionate and empathetic demeanor when providing patient care and support.
CPR and First Aid certification may be required, depending on the employer's policies.
